Frequent Questions

Do I need a referral to book?

You do not need a medical referral to book an appointment or to attend any counselling sessions.

Just how long is each session?

Each appointment booking is for a fifty-minute counselling session.  I am unable to extend this time (without a multiple session booking) as that would interfere with my preparations for the next client’s consultation.

What types of sessions are there?

There are three types – Online, Offline and In-Person.  Online sessions include Video Conferencing and Telephone Calls.  Offline sessions are only for Email Correspondence.  In-Person sessions are Face-to-Face physical meetings.

How much does a session cost?

NDIS Counselling sessions will be priced per the current “NDIS Price Guide and Support Catalogue 2019-2020, effective 30 April 2020”.
Non NDIS Counselling sessions will be priced per individual Client Engagement Forms.

Can we meet in person instead?

Of course, at a mutually convenient time and place.

What equipment do I need?

Firstly, you will need either a desktop, a laptop, or a smartphone.  Secondly, you will need a web camera.  Most laptops and smartphones have web cameras already built-in.  Desktops do not, and you will need to acquire one and then connect it via a USB port.  Finally, you will need software to communicate with and a reliable internet connection.  The following Windows-based tools are freely available (i.e. no fee) for download and use from the internet …

a) “Zoom” – https://zoom.us/download

b) “TeamViewer” – https://www.teamviewer.com/en-us/download/windows/

I encourage you to have a VPN connection in place – to provide security via privacy and anonymity.

What if I want to use email?

If you prefer email counseling, then yes, you may indeed use your everyday email account.  However, I encourage you to freely download and utilize either “ProtonMail” or “ProtonMail-Bridge” instead …

a) “ProtonMail” – https://protonmail.com

b) “ProtonMail Bridge” – https://protonmail.com/bridge/install
